Personally, I think ED should have a custom editor, and you pay to save a skin you make yourself (to clarify, you should be able to use defined patterns and such that you can move, color, and resize, not be able to upload whatever you feel like). I realize that someone has to make a skin that profiles to a different ship shape, but is it that hard to take a certain style and adapt it? It doesn't have to be a mirror image, just have the same characteristics. What if I want one of the Horus type skins, but on an Adder? Nope. But most of them are, and that's the only ship that has it at all. I'm okay with having to buy a separate paint job for each ship type, as they aren't really that much, and it supports the game development.
